West Yellowstone, MT: Grizzly RV Park

Last night we were awakened at 3 am by an enormous racket; it sounded like someone or something was trying to break through the roof with a snow show. A large metal snowshoe. In addition, there was a slight smell of something burning.

I knew immediately it was the bedroom heat pump that had been working overtime due to the cold temperatures, which approached freezing last night. I turned the bedroom heat off, verified nothing was actually burning and/or on fire, and went back to bed.

This morning we called an RV service rep and he diagnosed the problem: bearing on the fan for the heat pump compressor seized. New part is on order (under warranty) and we should be good to go in a few days or so. We'll keep our fingers crossed the parts arrive before we are scheduled to depart.

Today was cold, overcast, and it rained occasionally up until about 3 pm. Then the sun came out and it was beautiful if a little cool. MLA wanted a day to relax after our big travel day yesterday. So we stayed in camp today. We did go see an IMAX movie on the Lewis & Clark expedition; very cool.

Tonight I went out and took some pictures of the sunset that I thought I would share with you.

Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to go into the park, there is so much we want to see and do.

See Ya!
