Hattiesburg, Mississippi: Home of Jimmy Buffett & Brett Favre

The Tiffin service center finished our warranty repairs today around 1 pm, and by 1:30 pm we had Red Bay, Alabama in our rear view mirror, headed to New Orleans, Louisiana.

The folks at Tiffin did a great job of getting our repairs completed quickly once they got started.

Yesterday they removed and re-installed the windshield, which had developed a gap at the top of the passenger side. The new windshields are really a huge picture window at the front of the coach. In years past they were divided into two large sections however on ours it's now a single sheet of glass approximately 4 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Uninterrupted magnificent views, both when you are driving and when you are camping.

This morning Tiffin called us to a service bay at 8 am and they were done by 1 pm. We had the option of staying the night and driving to New Orleans tomorrow however we decided to hit the road and spend the night where ever we ended up around dinner time.

Turns out we ended up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, which is in the south east corner of Mississippi, less than 2 hours from New Orleans. Nice little community although we did not see much this evening as it was dark when we arrived. Temperature outside when we arrived was a very pleasant 63 degrees. Not bad.

Guess who was born here in Hattiesburg? Lots of folks obviously but the two names I thought you might recognize are Brett Favre & Jimmy Buffett. Cool.

Tomorrow we will drive to Covington, Louisiana and spend a few days visiting MLA's sister Debbie and her husband Richard. Since both MLA and I were sick at Christmas we didn't get a chance to see them while they were in town back in Maryland. MLA & I both are excited to see Debbie & Richard; we haven't seen them since last February.

After that we head west through Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, and into Arizona, and hopefully, some nice warmth. Yeah.

The drive through Texas will take a while since we'll be crossing the state at it's widest point. Not excited about driving through Houston since I spent a lot of time there when I was working and the traffic can be awful however I am excited about going through San Antonio.

See Ya!
