Las Vegas: Treasure Island

Vegas is filled with lots of things to do and see, almost all of which are intended to separate you from your money while entertaining you. Everyone knows about the huge variety of gambling/gaming options available to you.

From high stakes table games like Baccarat, Craps, Roulette, and all kinds of Poker to penny, two penny, and nickel slot/video games. Throw in sports gambling and betting on the outcome of just about any event in the world and you'll quickly realize Vegas has something for everybody.

Food has become a major attraction and another means of income. Sure, Vegas still has the huge and relatively inexpensive buffets they have always been famous for however they also have some of the best restaurants run by the the world's top chefs. An incredible variety of food options in every culinary variety you could wish for. All the names you know and love from the Food Channel plus quite a few more... Can you say premium pricing/expensive?

However, my favorite way to spend money in Vegas is to go out and see the shows. Entertainment is top notch. Who/What is in Vegas right now? Cirque Du Soleil has several shows running: The original show is Mystere, The Beatle's music based show is Love, there's "O", which is an incredible Cirque Du Soleil performed in and on the water, plus there is a super sexy version of Cirque Du Soleil called Zumanity. Other shows: Carrot Top (he's ridiculously funny), Donnie & Marie, Penn & Teller, Defending the Caveman, Phantom Of The Opera, plus too many comedians and magicians to mention. The list of entertainment goes on and on.

All kinds of entertainment offered for a wide range of pricing, including free. Free entertainment includes the battle of two sailing ships at Treasure Island, the recreation of the Canals of Venice at the Venetian, the lions at MGM are free to look at however they charge you to take pictures of the lions (I'm not kidding), etc. Seriously, just about every hotel has a story to tells and some some of entertainment to draw you in.

Also free is using the many swimming pools at the hotels and resorts of Vegas. The hotels compete hard to get you to stay at their property and the swimming pools reflect this competition. Many people select their hotel based on how cool the pool is and how big are the parties that happen weekly in/at the pool.

As you can see from the pictures above, our pool is just the way we like it. Most days there is no one else at our RV resorts pool. Maybe that changes on the weekend however so far we have had the pool, spa, and exercise room almost entirely to ourselves. Sweeeet!

What other entertainment awaits you in Vegas? How about shopping and more shopping? You name a designer/luxury brand and the have a storefront in Vegas. If you are lucky enough to win a big jackpot, every conceivable luxury item is available to help satisfy your every desire and (I'm sure its just a happy coincidence) to get the casinos money back into their hands.

Oh, what shows did MLA and I go to? We went to Defending the Caveman at the Golden Nugget (solid 3 out of 5 stars), the Phantom of the Opera (4 out of 5 stars) and the original Cirque Du Soleil Mystere (5 out of 5). It is exceptional and we would definitely see it again. In fact, we sat next to one gentleman who was attending his 9th performance of Mystere. He has seen all of the Circue Du Soleil shows in Vegas however this one is his favorite. Now MLA and I would not pay to see any show 9 times but we would pay to see Mystere again. It was that good.

Las Vegas is a city where the fun never ends. And the flow of money from your wallet rarely stops. That said, there no other place like it on earth. Everyone should experience Vegas at least once in their lives.

See Ya!
